Primary Ages 3-6
Our Primary Community nurtures young minds through curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we design child-centered and nature-connected environments where children are encouraged to wonder, discover, and engage with the world around them.
In this stage, children build a strong foundation in language, math, science, and the arts through hands-on experiences that connect learning to real life. Daily rhythms include time for open-ended exploration, meaningful projects, outdoor learning, and community building.
Our goal is to cultivate confident, compassionate learners who see themselves as capable contributors to their families, communities, and the natural world.
Our high school program blends academics, leadership, and real-world learning in a supportive, nature-rich environment. Students engage in dual credit courses through Austin Community College, explore meaningful projects, and follow personalized pathways — whether they’re preparing for college, pursuing a trade, or building entrepreneurial skills. With daily opportunities for service, hands-on learning, and reflection, they grow into confident, capable young adults ready to lead with purpose.
Elementary: 1st - 5th grades
The Elementary program at Cosmic Roots ignites students' imaginations, engages their interests, and hones their reasoning skills. Socially, students are divided into Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) and Upper Elementary (ages 9-12), providing tailored learning experiences that cater to their developmental stages. Students engage in project-based learning that integrates subjects such as earth science, grammar, art, and history. Recognizing the need for learning beyond the classroom, we expand educational experiences to our outdoor environments.
High School: 9th grades
Adolescents: 6th - 8th grades
The Adolescent program guides students through the pivotal transition from childhood to adulthood. This program blends academic growth with real-world experiences and creative self-expression, all within a supportive community where peers treat each other with respect. As students enter adolescence, the learning environment adapts to meet their evolving needs. Emphasizing self-expression, presentation skills, and financial literacy programs, the curriculum continues to integrate project-based learning with outdoor education.
Additional Programs
Throughout the year, we will offer opportunities to students to acquire new skills and nurture their passions. While many enrichment activities will be part of the day-to-day curriculum, there will be other programs that will be limited in space and will require an additional fee. Some of these include:
