Primary Ages 3-6
The Primary Community is a learning community that lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Classrooms are designed to be child-centered, with accessible low shelves for Montessori materials. The curriculum includes practical life, sensorial, math, language, and cultural subjects. The Primary program follows a three-year cycle, culminating in a "kindergarten year."
Elementary Ages 6-12
The Elementary program at Cosmic Roots ignites students' imaginations, engages their interests, and hones their reasoning skills. Socially, students are divided into Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) and Upper Elementary (ages 9-12), providing tailored learning experiences that cater to their developmental stages. Students engage in project-based learning that integrates subjects such as biology, grammar, art, and history. Recognizing the need for learning beyond the classroom, we expand educational experiences to our outdoor environments.
Adolescents Ages 12-15
The Montessori Adolescent program guides students through the pivotal transition from childhood to adulthood. This program blends academic growth with real-world experiences and creative self-expression, all within a supportive community where peers treat each other with respect. As students enter adolescence, the learning environment adapts to meet their evolving needs. Emphasizing self-expression, seminars, and programs that explore economic systems, the curriculum continues to integrate core Montessori principles with new developmental requirements.
Additional Programs
Throughout the year, we will offer opportunities to students to acquire new skills and nurture their passions. While many enrichment activities will be part of the day-to-day curriculum, there will be other programs that will be limited in space and will require an additional fee. Some of these include:
